Which Australian cities have Date My Mate events?
Sydney is live — we run nights at pubs in the CBD, Surry Hills, North Sydney, Manly and the Northern Beaches. Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Hobart are on the roadmap and open a waitlist each; a city goes live once we've locked in both venues and enough people to fill a room.
Is a pitch-your-mate night the same thing?
Yes. Pitch your mate, pitch my mate, pitch your single friend — they're all names for the same format, where a friend gets on stage and sells their single mate to a room. Date My Mate is the version we run: a full pub, a proper stage, three ticket types and a long mingle afterwards.
How is this different from speed dating?
No timed rotations and no forced one-on-ones. Someone who actually knows you does the introduction on stage, then the whole room mingles over drinks for the second half of the night. You talk to whoever you want, for as long as you want.
Can I come to a Date My Mate night on my own?
Yes. About half the room every night is minglers — no pitch, no pre-arranged mate. A Mingle ticket gets you in with your first two drinks, a front-row spot for the pitches and a pub full of people to talk to.
